Access and Permissions

Are you ready to begin using DataDirect? The following quick-access guides will help you get started. If you need additional guidance, please contact us at datadirect@aacsb.edu. 

Please note that AACSB can only assign basic access to users. All additional access requests require the institution's DataDirect primary contact authorization, either through approving the request through the included tools within DataDirect or through direct communication from the primary contact to AACSB staff.


Basic Access

All users with a myAACSB account receive basic access to DataDirect. Basic access includes:

  • Unlimited use of the Comparison Group tool for generating school sets
  • Access to the complete Innovations That Inspire collection
  • Access to select complementary reports

To gain access to additional data and reports in DataDirect, please view the following quick-access guides.

Quick-Access Guides

Survey reports contain aggregated data from either the full set of survey participants or predetermined large segments of participants based upon their regional classification. You may access them by doing the following:
  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Click on the Publications section
  3. Download the report

Bắn cá đổi thẻ càoIf the tool or report is not hyperlinked, you will need to request access by notifying your school's Primary Contact through the following steps:

  1. From the home screen, click Request Additional Access
  2. Select the download
  3. Click Submit Access Request
  4. Once approved, return to the Publications section to access the report

Bắn cá đổi thẻ càoIf you do not see the report you want listed among those your Primary Contact has access to, then your school did not complete the survey on which the report is based, and free access is not available.

For Business Members only: Business members at the sustaining level (full access), executive level (overview reports for most recent survey), and business level (one report annually by request) may access reports through DataDirect. Business and associate business level members may select this as their one report annually by request. Learn more about business membership.

The benchmarking tools provide you with the ability to create custom data reports based on your own parameters. You may access these tools by doing the following:
  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Click on the Benchmarking section
  3. Click Quick Results*
  4. Select the tool or report you would like generate

  1. From the home screen, click Request Additional Access
  2. Select the download
  3. Click Submit Access Request
  4. Once approved by your school's Primary Contact, return to the Benchmarking section to generate the report.

Bắn cá đổi thẻ càoIf you do not see the benchmarking tool you want listed among those your Primary Contact has access to, then your school did not complete the survey on which the report is based, and free access is not available.

*More advanced tools are available within DataDirect, such as the Report Writer. For beginner users, we recommend using the tools available within the Quick Results menu.

  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Hover over the Surveys section
  3. Click Survey Menu
  4. Choose the survey and the year

If you do not have access to complete the survey, you will need to request access by notifying your school's Primary Contact through the following steps:

  1. From the home screen, click Request Additional Access
  2. Select the survey you intend to complete 
  3. Click Submit Access Request
  4. Once approved by your school's Primary Contact, return to the Survey Menu section to complete the survey

For DataDirect Administrators Only

  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Hover over the Administration tab
  3. Click User Setup
  4. Click Create a New User
  5. Enter the user's first name, last name, and email.
  6. Click Save User

By default, the user will have basic DataDirect access. You may assign them additional access by adjusting their roles in the User Setup menu.

  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Hover over the Administration tab
  3. Click User Access Requests
  4. Click on Review Request
  5. Approve or Deny each request
  6. Click Process Request
  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Hover over the Administration tab
  3. Click User Setup
  4. Find the individual's name in the Select a User box
  5. Select the access roles the individual should have
  6. Click Save Changes
  1. Log into DataDirect
  2. Hover over the Administration tab
  3. Click User Setup
  4. In the Adjust Roles box go to the box labeled Select a User and choose the person you want to remove
  5. Select Archive the Selected User (This will remove the person from having access to your surveys or data.)
